Her high spirits and stubborn ways, characteristic of her Scottish ancestry, cause her much grief. Refusing marriage, she throws herself into the Suffrage Movement, speaking for women's rights. Too late, she realizes her love for Stephen, but he is going away.

Shattered by their unequal yoke, Isaac and Delilah attempt to restore an estranged relationship. Isaac finds his Christian faith a challenge, and Delilah prays for God to untangle the web of doubt and mistrust, and bring Isaac back to her.

“As a visually challenged writer, Ruth Ellinger—without total sight but with extreme vision—delivers a time and place that is far removed from our modern lives but, at the same time, speaks to us in ways we all need to hear. As a blind writer myself, I understand and appreciate Ruth’s commitment to bringing you this saga and the message behind it.”

“Ruth Carmichael Ellinger has penned a radiant and inspiring novel in Wild Rose of Promise. Reminiscent of her delightful style in The Wild Rose of Lancaster, the author has painted authentic and vivid word pictures that transport the reader into the captivating lives of her characters who struggle with many of the same core issues of today. A strong and moving novel.”
