Lawrence Millman writes for The Atlantic Monthly, National Geographic, and Smithsonian, and has published nine books, including Last Places and Hero Jesse. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Millman is the author of nine books, including Last Places, A Kayak Full of Ghosts, An Evening Among Headhunters, and, most recently, Northern Latitudes. He writes for Smithsonian, National Geographic, The Atlantic Monthly, Islands, and numerous other publications. He is a fellow of the Explorers Club and has a mountain named for him in Greenland.
