About the Author
Located in Bellevue, Nebraska near Offutt Air Force Base, Bellevue University is proud to show its support of military personnel and their families by publishing "We Will Never Forget" The University administration feels it is a fitting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. The University's commitment to the men and women in the armed forces dates back more than 40 years when one of its founding members, Bill Brooks, first saw the need for a college that would serve military personnel and dependents stationed at Offutt. Bill was, what the University calls, an adult learner: earning his degree after distinguishing himself in World War II as a naval aviator. He thought of the other veterans at Offutt and what a college education could do for them. It didn't take long for Bill to convince the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce that a college was needed. Bill witnessed his vision come to fruition in 1966, and his legacy of support for military personnel continues today at the University. For the second consecutive year, Bellevue University has been recognized as a Military Friendly School by GI Jobs. Inclusion on the list puts Bellevue University in the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. Bellevue University also has been recognized by government, law enforcement and private agencies for its national security programs; and offers degree programs in Security Management, International Security and Intelligence Studies and Cybersecurity.
