x+234 pages with diagrams. Octavo (7 3/4" x 5") bound in original publisher's pictorial wrappers. A reasonable book on the chess endgames, with some significant amount of time looking at the quite common variety of king and pawn endings. An older book, it uses old-style notation, so if you don't want to read that, get a more modern version. Following on from early work this is a reasonable piece of chess writing. Condition: Edge wear, corners bumped, hinges rubbed, previous owner's name in pencil to half title else very good.
