EDITION hardcover, quarter-bound in black cloth with decorative blue boards, is in FAIR condition, having wear to top and bottom spine (with tear at top at hinge); corners bumped and worn; original spine gilt lettering almost completely gone; gilt lettering on front still there; slight slant to spine; book is from the library of noted film composer David Raksin ("Laura", "Forever Amber", "Night Tide"), and has his impression stamp at bottom of first blank page; book has the normal ragged edges of deckled pages, where reader must separate pages with a blade; all pages seem to be cut, but there may be some that are not. Book has interior drawing decorations by John O'H. Cosgrave, II, and text is translated from French into English by Lewis Galantiere. Memoir by a French aviator. Philosophy.
