Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece, three coloured plates, four black-and-white plates, and seven facsimile reproductions. Collated, complete. A collection of short stories, poems, essays, and illustrations by prominent illustrators and authors who had previously been published by William Heinemann from the late nineteenth century to early twentieth century. Some of the works included are 'Charley's Coup' by Jack London, 'Love' by Algernon Swinburne, 'Falling Asleep' by Siegfried Sassoon, 'A Note on Sentiment' by John Galsworthy, 'From a Diary' by Vita Sackville-West, and 'The Vigil', by Marie Belloc Lowndes. Edited by L. Callender. In the original quarter brown cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, smart with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
