CONDITION: Good condition. Binding is sound, with no loose, torn, or folded pages. Light fraying at head and foot of spine with marks on back cover. Bottom corners are bumped. No writing or signs of former owner. Spine has darkened and some of the silver lettering and decoration is rubbed/faded but still readable. Toning to pages. There is a brown spot that starts lightly on page 5, grows to its peak around page 12 and then gradually disappears by page 21. Soiling to top edge. Overall a nice clean copy of this less well-known book from the creator of Peter Pan. Henry Altemus was a popular Philadelphia publisher in the late 19th/early 20th century best remembered for his wide list of reprint editions with beautiful cover designs.
