Windows 95 in easy steps is a best-selling guide to Microsoft's operating system, Windows 95. Written by Harshad Kotecha, also author of the best-selling Windows 98 in easy steps, this book covers all the essential features of Windows 95. This book begins by introducing the reader to Windows 95. It explains how to start and shut down Windows 95, use a mouse, use the Start button, Wizards, and the extensive on-line Help facility. Next, the author describes the basic menu, dialog box or window, which will be used when performing any function in Windows 95. The book then moves on to look at working with programs including starting and closing programs, creating a shortcut, using the Startup Folder, installing and uninstalling programs, cutting, copying and paste, and running MS-DOS applications. Then the reader learns how to look at, and work with, files using My Computer, Windows Explorer, and the Toolbar and they are also taught features such as file naming, hidden files, opening documents and file properties. The next chapter covers managing files and folders. Here the reader learns to select, copy, move and delete files and folders as well as create, rename and find files and folders. Then, printing is covered including setting up a printer, fonts, printing documents, print management, configuration and troubleshooting.
