First blank has ownership inscription: Pansy Grant, Spindletop Hall, Jan. 2, 1952. Pansy Grant was the heiress of the Spindletop oil fortune from her first husband, Miles Frank Yount. In 1935, after his death, she chose to build a 45,000 sq foot mansion in Kentucky called Spindletop Farm where she lived with her second husband, horse trainer Cape Grant until their divorce. In 1959, Spindletop Farm was sold to the University of Kentucky and Spindletop Hall became the residence of the university's faculty, staff, and alumni club.
