On the Wings of Time

On the Wings of Time
Poems by Crisula Stefanescu
Translated by Monella Kaplan

Time does not pass through these poems —
it listens.

In On the Wings of Time, acclaimed poet Crisula Stefanescu invites the reader into a world where love, absence, memory, and longing move with the quiet force of breath. These poems are intimate yet expansive, spare yet resonant — fragments of emotion that linger long after the page is turned.

Written with striking clarity and emotional precision, Stefanescu’s poetry explores:

• the tenderness of love and loss
• the ache of waiting and remembering
• the fragile beauty of fleeting moments
• the way time shapes us, and how we shape time in return

Each poem is a pause — a still point where the personal becomes universal.

Translated into English by Monella Kaplan, this edition preserves the original musicality and depth of the poems while offering them a new voice. The translation is faithful, restrained, and deeply attuned to the emotional cadence of the original text, allowing English-language readers to experience the same quiet intensity that has defined Stefanescu’s work.

This is a book for readers who love poetry that whispers rather than shouts — for those who find meaning in silence, in memory, in what is left unsaid.

On the Wings of Time is not read.
It is felt.

Perfect for readers of:
