Other features of the book include tips on verbal and non-verbal communication which, psychological studies show, can influence the outcome of the interview. There are sections on special problems confronting women and older job hunters. In keeping with the spirit of the title, many humorous illustrations and quotations help the job hunter realize that, after all, a single interview is not a life-or-death situation but just one move in a game where practicing the right strategies can eventually lead to a win!

Jo Danna has degrees in psychology and education from Columbia University and is also a graduate of the Career Opportunities Institute, University of Virginia in Charlottesville which was set up during the 1970s recession to help "downsized" college and university professors find new careers in the non-academic world. Much of this book is based on her own experience searching for the kind of information and guidance she needed most but was not available at the time.
