Wireless Sensor Networks

Bulusu (computer science, Portland State University) and Jha (computer science, University of New South Wales, Australia) offer an in-depth understanding of wireless sensor networks from a systems perspective, in this book for students, researchers, and industry professionals. They describe and categorize the technological trends, leading applications, platform developments, and challenges of sensor networks. Chapters are in sections on core ideas, building blocks for low-level sensor network self-organization and operation, middleware to support sensor network applications, and case studies in areas such as animal habitat monitoring and defense. Contributions are by leading international researchers, several of whom initiated research on the problems they discuss. The book can serve as a text for an introductory sensor networking class at either the graduate or upper-division undergraduate level. Annotation ©2005 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
