In the preface to this 191 page collection the author admits to adding to adding in Chelm-like stories from outside the original ones he heard as a child. These nonsense stories are part of a folkloric tradition. READ more about : Pinsk, foolish questions, feeble horse, mayor's wife, tramp, flower pot, scoundrel, Dr. Castor Oil Magnesia, and Dr. Pimplewasser.Zevi Blum drawings in b/w add to the text. Forty plus stories. Cond : Blue paper wrapper with yellow lettering. Cover art shows how one captures the moon in a vat of water. Colours bright, binding tight. Minimal soiling. A tad more general wear. Excellent reading copy. We may accept International money orders or personal cheques; please allow 6 days for cheques to clear. Please make cheques payable to Wagon Tongue Books. I can handle your credit card transactions ONLY through the ABE.commerce program. PAYPAL is also a workable option. We under rate the condition of our books, build cardboard shipping sleeves for protected shipping and respond promptly to requests and queries. Shipping and handling on all books is at the expense of the purchaser, and is often in the $12.95 per item range. Book weight and volume purchases will alter these conditions. We will be happy to re-quote books in Canadian dollars for local buyers and to arrange local `hand-offs'of purchases, if you prefer.
