Wise Priorities: Searching for the Best Life Possible

Every human being, Christian or not, is naturally inclined to prioritize the pursuit of money and pleasure. It is part of our culture and it is part of our genes. While these pursuits are well ingrained in us they are not the priorities that lead to the best life possible. This is especially true for those who belong to Christ. To have the best in this life and to have “treasure” in eternal life a different mindset is necessary. Wise Priorities shares with the reader both insights from Scripture and from social research. This book encourages the readers to think about the long-term benefits of investing in good relationships, caring for their health, finding their God-given purpose in life, embracing the gift of eternal life through Christ, coming to know God personally. This book also encourages a healthy attitude toward money and its true value. Each chapter shares insights into the value of each topic mentioned above and how we hurt ourselves by neglecting them. The chapters provide ways to evaluate your life at present and gives direction for growth in each area. Each chapter ends with discussion questions that can be used in a small group or for personal reflection.

Thomas Wenig is an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. He is the Senior Pastor of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Evansville, Indiana. He has a Doctor of Ministry from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Where he did his thesis on Environmental Stewardship Education in the Congregation. He also received his Masters of Divinity from Concordia. Tom enjoyed a short career as an engineer in the nuclear power industry after receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Tom has been married for 25 years and has two children. His wife, Joan, is a hospital pharmacist. Tom is originally from Sheboygan, WI. He enjoys fitness, golf, volleyball and downhill skiing.
