About the Author

Authors, Ruth Anne Abel Rippel and Janice Abel are sisters. Both are educators and teachers. Ruth Ann holds a B.A. from University of Northern Iowa and M.S. degree from Iowa State University. She has taught kindergarden for 31 years. Janice holds a bachelor and masters degree from Drake University and an Ed.D. from Indiana University. Both have written materials in their respective areas of education. The Wishmore stories were prompted by our memories as we went through our fathers photos and promoted by encouragement from local town people who knew we had stories to tell.
