The Wolf of the Library

A traveling librarian journeys south to the Keshtun steppes, searching for a long-lost relic whispered to bend the will of kings.

Tiogan has spent two decades working alone, hunting down rare and dangerous texts for the Library, but never before has a mission gone so wrong so quickly. Immediately upon arrival in the Emirian port of Dir Talan, he discovers his trusted contact Hiral lying dead. Tiogan must choose between vengeance and duty. Duty wins—barely—and a final gesture from Hiral leads to a vital clue.

His journey takes him south to the desolate plains of Keshtor. Cast out of a caravan under false charges and low on coin, Tiogan staggers into the path of the nomadic horsefolk who call the plains home. There, a Dreamer offers an omen and a riddle. To reach his destination, Tiogan must earn the clan’s trust, survive a journey into the treacherous mountains, and beat any potential rivals who would wield the relic’s subtle persuasion for far darker ends.

From dust-choked bazaars to razor-grass steppe and into ice-bitten mountains, Tiogan’s hunt spirals toward a hidden door and a choice that could reshape power across Tellen. The Wolf of the Library is a story of knife-edged intrigue, nomadic cultures rendered in vivid detail, and the quiet ferocity of a solitary hero who refuses to quit.

Perfect for fans of Patrick Rothfuss’s character-driven quests, and Rosemary Kirstein’s quiet, puzzle-forward fantasy.
