The Wolfram Case Notes (Paperback)

Paperback. When a research project at a New Mexico university uses the experimental WOLFRAM A.I. system to translate the neural activity of a rescued rez dog into human language, their breakthrough leads to unsettling findings. The dog's fragmented memories appear to contain clues to his owner's disappearance, and the involvement of a mysterious malevolent entity in the desert; however, the researchers are unsure whether this bizarre story is true or just the product of an A.I. hallucination. When the WOLFRAM experiments move from animal to human trials, using vulnerable psychiatric patients, even more disturbing discoveries are made about the A.I. itself. An epistolary novel told through interviews, case notes, and diaries, The Wolfram Case Notes blends horror, mystery and psychological science fiction, into a haunting exploration of consciousness, morality, and trauma.
