Original publisher's brown embossed leather boards with gilt title WOMAN on front cover and decorative paneling; rebacked in black cloth with original spine laid down; illustrated throughout with monochrome plates. Covers show heavy wear with corner losses, scuffing, surface abrasion, and edge rubbing; hinges reinforced; inner joints firm; contents generally intact with age-toned paper, scattered spotting, and library remnants including a Public Library Willows, California pocket and cards. Library-reinforced cloth binding with archival black corner and spine tape; boards stable and text block is complete. No dust jacket as issued.
