Celebrate the lives of 12 historical women who dared to question why women weren't afforded the right to vote. Each block tells the story of a woman who stood up against the conventions of the day and had the courage to fight for equality.

Dolores Smith and Sarah Maxwell opened Homestead Hearth in September 2002. For many years prior to that, they traveled to quilt shows around the country and visited shops along the way. Always, they talked about having their own shop and all of the exciting things they would do if they owned a shop. The reality of owning the shop and its related experiences has far exceeded their dreams.

Under the trade name of Homestead Hearth, Dolores and Sarah have designed quilts for use at International Quilt Market and have created patterns for fabric company websites. They are regular contributors to McCall's Quilting and Quick Quilts magazines.
