The Women: Love, The Lack Of Closure, and Letting Go.: Complete Edition

“The women I once loved, fell for, or lusted after came and went in those early years like colorful flashes of light in the sky on the Fourth of July. They were there for only a brief moment, never to be seen or heard from again.”

Some people leave quietly. Others stay with you forever.

In The Women, A. W. Owens dissects the emotional aftermath of love, lust, obsession, rejection, and unfinished endings with unflinching honesty. These pieces move through the wreckage of relationships that never fully arrived and goodbyes that were never spoken, where memory becomes both comfort and punishment.

Written in stark, intimate prose, this collection captures the strange loneliness of missing people who are still alive somewhere in the world, carrying versions of you that no longer exist. Every page feels like revisiting old photographs at 2 a.m., searching for answers that were never given.

Raw, reflective, and painfully human, The Women is about the connections that continue haunting us long after they end.
