Synopsis
In her insightful debut book, Mary Pierce Brosmer shares the unique method of writing that she developed as founder and director of Women Writing for (a) Change, a nationwide organization that teaches women and girls to nurture the conscious feminine voice within them. Imaginative exercises, helpful examples, and provocative anecdotes enable women to explore their writing not just as a means of individual self-examination and expression, but also as a way to create and effect positive social change.

A Network of Organizations: In 1991 Mary Pierce Brosmer founded Women Writing for (a) Change, a social purpose business in Cincinnati that soon gave birth to Young Women Writing for (a) Change, The Women Writing for (a) Change Foundation, Consulting for (a) Change, and the Feminist Leadership Academy. Today there are eight Women Writing for (a) Change affiliates cross the U.S.: in Birmingham, Alabama, Grand Junction, Colorado, Bloomington, Indiana, Indianapolis, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, Traverse City, Michigan, Portland, Oregon, and Burlington, Vermont, serving women of all ages.
Mary Pierce Brosmer is a teacher, poet, feminist visionary, and the founder of Women Writing for (a) Change. She also founded the Feminist Leadership Academy of Cincinnati, where she works to build a sustainable community of women leaders in order to incorporate conscious feminine values and principles into many different types of organizations. In 2007 Pierce Brosmer won the Athena Award from Cincy Business for her leadership as a social entrepreneur and was recognized by Leading Women, Inc. as an Outstanding Leader of 2005. Her poetry has been featured in such places as English Journal, Sojourner, The Women's Forum, and Early Ripening.
