A very scarce work.An anthology of short tales and poems for children, including 'The Kitten Who Would Not Wash His Face', 'Father Christmas Has a Present', 'Toy-Shop Revels', 'Two By Two', 'Jiggerty Jog', and more.Illustrated with two colourful pop-ups, three colour plates, and monochrome in-text illustrations throughout.Lacking page 5/6.The front board is illustrated by Beatrice Mallet In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Boards are a little discoloured with some minor marks. Minor rubbing to the extremities. Spine is faded. Small chips to the rear joint. Front hinge is starting but firm. Stamp to the front paste down. Ink to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. The occasional illustration is hand-coloured by a prior owner. Lacking page 5/6. Good.
