The Wonder of Under: A STEM Adventure Book for Kids

When Paxton's day starts to feel a little too ordinary, he looks where few dare to explore-under the couch, under the bed, under the rug. What he discovers isn't just small items destined for the trash, but the spark of a grand adventure built from imagination and a few forgotten treasures.

The Wonder of Under is an award-winning picture book that blends STEM discovery with social-emotional (SEL) growth. As Paxton upcycles ordinary items into an extraordinary sailboat, young readers are gently introduced to basic science and engineering concepts like building, floating, and problem-solving-while also exploring emotional themes of creativity, perseverance, and the joy of curiosity.

Winner of 3rd Place in the 2025 ACFW KidLit Awards, this playful story celebrates the value of looking at life from a new angle and reminds readers that some of the best adventures begin with a simple question: "What if?"

The back of the book includes step-by-step instructions for building a DIY sailboat and fun experiments to try with upcycled creations. Perfect for preschoolers and early learners, The Wonder of Under invites children to think outside the box-and maybe even under it. A delightful resource for parents, caregivers, and educators, this book transforms everyday moments into hands-on learning opportunities and imaginative fun.
