Re-translated from the Latin text and enlarged with a table of hyperbolic logarithms to all numbers from 1 to 1201 by Herschell Filipowski. 24mo. xix [1], 71 [1]pp., and [112] pages of tables. Woodcut vignette on final page. Publisher’s dark brown decorative cloth stamped in blind and gold, all edges gilt. Binder’s ticket on back pastedown: "Bound by John Gray, Edinburgh". Contemporary Napier family armorial bookplate on front pastedown: "Sans Tache, Ready Aye Ready, Napier." Boards are lightly rubbed and toned, corners very gently bumped, a bright, near fine copy. An attractive copy of the scarce 1857 edition, with a nice association from Napier’s Scottish estate. *OCLC* locates only three copies in the UK.
