Synopsis

How do you turn a shrimp sandwich into a horse? Jeremiah the auctioneer discovers how when he learns that one person's junk is another's "wonderful junk".

When his truck breaks down, Jeremiah embarks on a series of trades to get himself a horse. He trades his ship-in-a-bottle for an old bicycle. Then the bicycle is exchanged for a bridle, the bridle for a bag of oats, and so on, until he's left with a couple of shrimp sandwiches. But how is he to trade these for a horse? It's easy, when you throw in a little imagination--and the help of good friends.

Troon Harrison has had several previous children's books published, including Lavender Moon and Don't Dig So Deep, Nicholas. She has reviewed books for Canadian Children's Literature, and has had poetry published in Canadian Authorand additional journals. She lives in Lakefield, Ontario.

Geoff Hocking lives in Australia, where he works as a book illustrator and commercial designer.
