Synopsis
Presents shortcuts, techniques, and tips to help writers make better use of word processing software in writing, editing, formatting, and printing manuscripts
Reviews
Although well written, this "user-friendly" book fails to address the specific concerns of writers regarding scripts, dialogue, footnotes, and the like. Offering little that isn't found in other user manuals and introductory computer and software-specific books, it instead considers the generic abilities of word processing to create and edit text--information that anyone acquiring equipment would have already explored. Part 1 is a basic overview of word-processing concepts, such as word-wrap, windows, mice, and modems. Part 2 offers a few useful tips, but not the "writerly WP secrets to use in creating, editing, printing and submitting manuscripts in paper or disk copy" promised in the introduction. Not recommended.
