The Words In Red

For generations, Christians have highlighted the words of Jesus in red ink to set them apart. But what if reading those words in order—watching them unfold as one unified message—reveals the very heart of His mission in a way we often miss?

In The Words in Red: The Mission of Christ Through His Own Voice, author Steven Willis takes readers on a clear, compelling journey through the spoken teachings of Jesus across the four Gospels. Rather than offering commentary about Christ, this book lets Christ speak for Himself—tracing the divine progression of His ministry from announcement to fulfillment.

Through this focused red-letter study, you will see:

• How Jesus intentionally builds His message as His mission advances

• Why His earliest words differ from His final ones—and what that reveals about the New Covenant

• How His teachings expose false religion while offering life to the weary and broken

• What He says repeatedly to shape disciples, prepare believers, and confront unbelief

• The unity and authority of Christ’s voice across every Gospel account

This is not a theological textbook or a devotional filled with stories—it is a guided encounter with the voice of Jesus Christ, presented so that His mission becomes unmistakably clear.

Whether you are new to studying Scripture or deeply rooted in Reformed theology, this book will help you hear Jesus with fresh ears and follow Him with renewed conviction.

Sit under His words.
