I wrote Words at Work to help people tap into their creativity and write with more confidence, Lynda says. Ive been teaching writing since 2006, and Im always struck by the number of people who struggle with their writing, held back by fear and dread. I also recall from the early days of my own long writing career how often I experienced those same feelings--and how I overcame them. Words at Work shares those tools and techniques so that you too can excel at your writing and your work. This book not only teaches how to write, but helps readers tap into their creativityand theres no telling where that can lead.

About the Author
I got my start as a writer in the most unlikelyplace--a town of 200 people in the mountains of North Carolina. But living therechanged my life in so many positive ways. Decades later, I realized that just about everything I value today, I was introduced to there. My Appalachian MountainMysteries pay homage to the people of Appalachia who taught me so much.
Over the years, I've written more than 1,200articles for major magazines, hundreds of newsletters and blogs. I'm proudestof the 18 books I've written--both fiction and nonfiction. And I've taught hundreds of executives and employees how to write more effectively and start/finish/publish their articles, blogs, and books.
My clients and students hail from organizations such as Microsoft, Visa, The Boeing Company, Del Monte, T-Mobile, Key Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, City of Seattle, YMCA, American Society of Training and Development, U.S. Small Business Administration, University of Washington, University of Puget Sound, Stanford University, First Choice Health, American Society of Safety Engineers, and American Society of Women Accountants.
Magazines and newspapers I've written for include Southern Living, Country Living, Yoga Journal, Law & Politics, Associations Now, Advancing Philanthropy, American Cinematographer, AmericanStyle, NICHE, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Charlotte Observer, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, beliefnet.com, guideposts.com, and washingtonpost.com.
