He holds a degree from the University of Cambridge in Philosophy and Classics, and another one from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in Technical Theatre. He also sidelines as a composer for film and theater, and once spent a year building animatronic puppets as part of a robot circus, including a mechanical octopus that played the xylophone.
