A set of four works from the Everyman's Library, including Anna Karenina, The Scarlet Letter, The Complete English Works of George Herbert and The Confessions by Augustine.Anna Karenina is widely considered one of the greatest works of literature ever written and this copy is translated from the Russian by Louise and Aylmer Maude with an introduction by John Bayley, published in 1992.The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a historical novel that follows Hester Prynne, this edition has an introduction by Alfred Kazin and was published in 1992.The Complete English Works by George Herbert is edited and introduced by Ann Pasternak Slater in this edition. George Herbert was one of England's major writers during the seventeenth century. This edition was published in 1995.The Confessions is an autobiographical work by Augustine, this edition has been translated and edited by Philip Burton with an introduction by Robert Lane Fox and published in 2001.All are in the original dust wrappers. All in the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. A clipped dust wrapper and previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper to The Complete English Works.
