Translated by Wm. Whiston. Four volumes. 447; 424; 432; 447pp. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece in Volume One and two fold-out black and white maps (one in Volume Three and one in Four). All volumes full contemporary marbled calf, the spines are divided into six compartments each repeating a simple gilt design save for two compartments which have black leather labels with "Josephus's Works" and the volume number in gilt, and gilt striping along the edges of the boards. The boards and spines are worn on each volume, the front board of Volume Two is cracked at the top of the hinge and had a dent at the bottom edge, owner name and address penciled on the front free endpaper of Volume One,foxing throughout all volumes, and Volume Two missing the front free endpaper, overall a complete and good or better set.
