Hannah More was an English religious writer and philanthropist. She wrote as a poet, playwright as well as an author on moral and religious subjects. More began her career writing plays and swiftly became involved with the literary elite in London, eventually becoming a leading member of the Bluestocking group. Her plays and poetry moved to being more evangelical as she became part of an anti-slave trade movement. a full diced calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine and to the board edges.
