A collection of one hundred eleven sermons across three volumes, (two books), by Isaac Barrow; an English theologian and mathematician, forerunner of the development of infinitesimal calculus, and professor to Isaac Newton. Beautifully rebound in July of 2024 in matching quarter brown calf leather and handmade marbled paper in gray green, black and taupe. Lined in gilt at the seam of the paper and leather. Hubbed spines bear six raised bands accented in gilt ornamentation with burgundy leather title label stamped in gilt lettering. Double headbands and each head and spine. New off-white, aged endpapers. Paginated separately, Volume I is bound in the first book. Volumes II and III are bound in the second, and all volumes are separately paginated. Occasional ornamented initials. Dedications to the Earl of Nottingham, (Volume I); to the King (Volume II), and to Her Royal Highness The Princess Anne of Denmark (Volume III), in which are all written by Isaac Barrow's father, Thomas Barrow. On a shelf, this set spans 4.5 inches, and weighs almost 14 lbs. ESTC#: T97909.VOLUME I.
