263pp. Original brown buckram, spine lettered in gilt, image in gilt on front cover. Brown coated end papers. Frontispiece and nine plates, all mounted albumen photographs. One tipped-in plate, bearing facsimiles of Bruce's hand writing. Some discoloration of end papers, inner hinges cracking, short tears in cloth along rear hinge, a very good copy. There is foxing and spotting of some leaves, mainly to margins; the photographic images all have their tissue protectors and are good clear images. No limitation stated, but evidence from the preface of the earlier non-illustrated issue suggests that 250 copies were issued with photographs.
