Vol. 1: cclxxvi [preface + On the Genius and Character of Robert Burns + The Life of Robert Burns], iv [preface + dedication], 149 p.p., [24] p.p. illustrations incl. frontis.; Vol. 2: xiv, 419 p.p., 2 p.p. ads, [25] p.p. illustrations incl. frontis. Rubbing and fraying to extremities of boards and spine, Bumped head of spine on vols. 1&2, with small tear to plate 5 in vol. 1, image unaffected and smal chip to fore-edge of vol. 2. Staining throughout lightly browned pages. Lacks supplemental plates in Vols. 1&2. In otherwise good condition. A nice set on Burns collected ballads, songs, and poems in the Scottish dialect.
