Item description from seller

428 pages (complete). A suitably scruffy copy. This volume includes Johnson's essays of the lives of: "Cowley", "Denham", "Milton", "Butler", "Rochester", "Roscommon", "Otway", "Waller", "Pomfret", "Dorset", "Stepney", "J. Philips", "Walsh", "Dryden". Half-leather. The spine has been repaired with a leather strip. The leather corners are worn, scuffed but are placid. The marbled boards are scuffed, marked. These too are much worn and marked. They are benign. The contents have, as to be expected, age-related marks. Otherwise, they are tight, clean, clear, very confident, most reassuring and assured. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
