The Works of Thomas Goodwin, Vol. 7 (Classic Reprint)

How holiness shines through a faithful life and clear conscience

This volume surveys the nature of God, creation, and the difference between divine glory and creature existence.

It argues against any view that would merge the Creator with the created, and it explains why God’s being remains wholly distinct and sovereign. The book also traces how a believer lives in light of this truth, showing how innocence, meekness, and steadfast faith testify to the majesty of the Lord in everyday conduct.

Centered on practical reflections for the Christian life, it offers guidance on maintaining holiness amid trials, honoring God in small acts of integrity, and pursuing inward repentance as a path to spiritual growth. The discussion blends scriptural grounding with pastoral counsel, helping readers think clearly about worship, sin, and grace without losing sight of God’s ultimate distance from his creatures.

• Clear explanations of why God’s essence remains unlike created things and why that matters for faith
• Guidance on living innocently and honestly to honor the Lord in everyday life
• Practical insights on repentance, meekness, and patient endurance during difficult times
• Ways to align heart and conduct with gospel holiness in a troubled world

Ideal for readers seeking a thoughtful, Bible-grounded meditation on God, creation, and a life that reflects divine majesty in the world.
