Third edition, quarto; four volumes complete; xxv, [ii], 525, [4]; [iv], 538, [12]; 579, [11]; 555, [11]pp. Uniformly bound in original mid-eighteenth century full leather over five raised spine bands with gilt lettered red leather spine labels to second compartments (binding worn with loss to extremities, vol.1 spine label chipped and labels to vols 2 and 4 missing, bindings remain strong and secure), ownership name and label to opening endpapers of each volume, small eighteenth century ink ownership name to top corner of each title page ('J.Shirley 1782'), very occasional light spots and stains, with numerous decorative woodcut head and tail pieces, portrait frontispiece and six leaves of medallic woodcuts at end of vol.1.
