The World Famous Roberts Prints

This is a 1980 publication of a work originally published in 1842 - consisting of drawings made on the spot by David Roberts, R. A - with historical descriptions by the Revd. George Croly LL.D. It is 'strictly limited to 500 copies,' and, according to the publisher, 'a Valuable Collection item.' There are 28 plates in total; many whole-page. Please note that the construction of this book is slightly unusual in that the boards are the equivalent of a paper dust jacket i.e they are separate from the book block. Plus, the engraved illustrations are printed on almost card-like heavy paper. They are, however, held together by (the publisher's) adhesive tape. From plate 17 onwards, they have become separated from this tape binding. Condition (external): the boards are quite marked/tanned in places (main image). Condition (internal): the card plates are in a sound condition - minor hints of tanning on some. The title page has the following note in ink in the top right-hand corner: Nov. 1978, Jeddah. Unpaginated. 4to (slightly larger). Please note that, depending on destination, we may request a payment to cover any extra shipping & postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2634.
