World Prehistory and Archaeology: Pathways Through Time, Second Canadian Edition

Following up on the success of the first edition, World Prehistory and Archaeology contains new Canadian content in each chapter. Michael Chazan (University of Toronto) is an expert in the field, and brings a unique and dynamic point of view to the study of introductory archaeology. With a focus on Canada’s important archaeological sites and well-known archaeologists, World Prehistory and Archaeology 2ce is the only Canadian textbook published for a world prehistory and archaeology course. Integrating archaeological method with the story of human prehistory, the text presents a combined picture of prehistory as an active process of discovery with methodological issues. This provides students the tools to understand how the current understanding of human prehistory evolved. With new and updated Canadian content, Chazan brings students to the cutting edge of archaeological research by presenting the most recent discoveries and theoretical perspectives.

Michael Chazan is the author of both the US and Canadian editions. He has been teaching archaeology at the University of Toronto since 1997. He received his Ph.D. from Yale, and previously taught at Tufts, Brandeis, and Harvard.
