Between This World and the Text (Paperback)

Paperback. There is a kind of poem that doesn't explain what it knows, it simply holds its knowledge up to the light and lets you see through it. Between This World and the Text is a book of such poems: compressed, exact, quietly relentless. M.C. Rush has spent a lifetime paying the kind of attention most people only manage in moments of crisis, and these poems are what that attention produces, observations that arrive like small shocks of recognition, questions that stay open because they're supposed to, and a rare willingness to say difficult things simply, without ornament or apology.
