About the Author
Joseph T. Allmon (1921-2007) was a human resources executive for Riegel Textile Corporation for more than 30 years. He was also a former Baptist minister who became a Unitarian, a white southerner who became a progressive advocate for civil rights, and a corporation man who was always a thinker and scholar. A native of Mississippi, he was a resident of Greenville, South Carolina for most of his adult life. Warren D. Allmon is Joe Allmon's son. He is the Director of the Paleontological Research Institution in Ithaca, New York and Hunter R. Rawlings III Professor of Paleontology at Cornell University.
