Charles Scribner's Sons, 1911; 7-9/16"; pale blue-gray cloth with all black lettering; pictorial front, in black, tan & peach, shows a rowboat with two men rowing and one standing, the stern of a listing ship in the background; title and author listed at top with single peach line above & below author's name; spine has same two lines & a small bollard, in black, in the very middle; plain white end pages; frontis + 7, all on coated paper; page listing all illustrations; 2 page of book advertisements at rear of book. The exterior of the book is square, clean, with no wear on the bottom edge; the lower front corner and the head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped, without fabric damage. The front panel illustration is slightly worn but still rather attractive. The interior is very clean--it is free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and any sort of paper damage. Hinges are strong and the paper is still quite flexible. The tissue covering the frontis is attached for half its height. And the FFEP has been corner cut (see photo), taking out a piece 2" horizontally and 2-1/2" vertically.
