Writing Arcade Expressions: for ArcGIS Pro

What is Arcade and why should you use it? It's an expression language written specifically for ArcGIS Pro that incorporates all the great programming tools with very specific spatial data tools to make it very powerful. Arcade can be used to format labels, control symbology, make custom map pop-ups, and much more. In this book you will work through 13 exercises plus several On Your Own challenges to get in-depth and hands-on practice with Arcade. One of Arcade's strongest features is the ability to create and maintain virtual field values on-the-fly. If the data doesn't have a value you need but does have the data necessary to build it, then an Arcade expression can accomplish that without modifying the layer's table. Arcade also allows for cross-data analysis on-the-fly; even with layers that aren't editable. When you are done you will be amazed at how many places you will be using Arcade.
