Nancy B. Velasco, MSEd offers encouraging steps, sound advice, and proven methods for improving writing skills. She works privately as an Education Specialist in Southern California and enjoys helping students excel. In this book, the author takes some of her most popular instructional lessons and shares them in hopes to reach out to more students just like you.
Author Biography
Nancy B. Velasco, MSEd. has her master's degree in education with an emphasis in Online Instruction. After completing her undergraduate degree, Ms. Velasco taught and led in post-secondary (adult) schools for over 11 years. During this time, she wrote her first book in computer technology. It got published when computer networking started becoming popular. She taught a variety of subjects at the time, mostly computer, business, and keyboarding.
She went on to lead a small technology team in a midsize Christian credit union. In this role the team supported the desktop, laptop, and phone infrastructure for the organization. Nancy B. Velasco facilitated Technology Training, sharing bits and pieces of "how to's" for the enterprise staffing. Nancy's team also led significant technology projects. After 16 years working at the credit union, Ms. Velasco left to help at a church in the community.
Nancy enjoyed helping in multiple ways, though her official title read Church Administrator or Secretary. She led in children's church, facilitated Bible studies, counseled women one-on-one, and did intercessory prayer. Nancy did many behind the scenes duties: computer repair, media setup, spreadsheets, database management, and life group administration support. She also published her first inspirational book, Untangled Spirit and Unfrozen Heart. Nancy began tutoring students after school. She eventually left the church administration role and began private tutoring full-time.
Velasco offers private and group help in English language communications. Current focus primarily centers around helping clients and their families develop writing, reading, vocabulary, spelling, and presentation skills. Several have expressed experiencing higher grades in school. Some have gone on to write their own books. In addition to partnering with individuals in a mentoring or coaching fashion, Ms. Velasco has written and published over 20 books. She writes inspirational spiritual books, children's story books, and educational instructions. Nancy still enjoys tutoring online and seeks to introduce educational books and resources to help even more students.
