About this Item
348 pp., illustrations, four maps, photographs, illustrations with a seven page introduction by Glenn G. Boyer. In 1981 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Shoot-Out At The OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, ninety-nine full leather, limited slip cased editions of this book were produced by Yoma V. Bisset in Sierra Vista, Arizona for Glenn Boyer. The ninety-nine copies sold out immediately with many collectors paying in advance for their copy. It is known as the Flood Manuscript, written by Earp confidant John H. Flood from interviews with his friend Wyatt Earp in 1926 and 1927. Flood, it is obvious, was not a very good writer but what he wrote is certainly a valuable contribution to the genre. The book was intended as a lecture series to be given at the Arizona Pioneers' Historical Society in Tucson. The lectures were never given. This curious, obviously reprinted some would say "boot legged" copy comes from the library of author/histporian Philip J. Rasch and has his margin annotations on several pages. Additionally, laid in is a long hand printed letter to Rasch from David Cruickshank (?). A VERY COLLECTIBLE EARP/TOMBSTONE ITEM! Seller Inventory # 004639-2
