Hell Yeah!, Vol. 1: Last Days on Earth

In a post-superhuman present day, Ben Day is your average meta-human college student—going to rock shows and hanging out with his friends. Until recently, Ben thought all he had to worry about was being expelled for getting into scrapes while trying to fight crime. But the explosive appearance of visitors from an alternate Earth, and their unsettling story that throughout the multiverse, Ben Days are being murdered by a mysterious superbeing, change everything. Now it’s up to him to try to solve the mystery, rescue himselves, and save the entire multiverse. Keatinge is clearly laying the groundwork here for a larger story, concentrating on introducing necessary characters and fleshing out the premise, but that doesn’t distract from the fun. The quick bits of action are suitably over-the-top, and the art is right in line with mainstream superhero styling with nice attention paid to character design. This should shape up to be a series to watch. --Tina Coleman
