The Year at Foxglove Fold: A Cosy Rural Romance of Farming, Found Family and New Beginnings

Sometimes the life you need begins where the road runs out.

Thirty-two-year-old Nell Rowan has had enough of deadlines, artificial smiles and designing cheerful packaging for products she does not believe in. When she unexpectedly inherits her late aunt’s neglected smallholding in the secluded Larkspur Vale, she plans to sell it quickly and return to the safety of her old life.

But Foxglove Fold has other ideas.

Behind the brambles and broken fences, Nell discovers a crumbling stone cottage, an abandoned greenhouse and a collection of rare seeds that seem perfectly suited to the valley’s failing soil. As she begins planting, repairing and caring for a determined flock of hens, Nell is slowly drawn into village life.

There is Bea, the warm-hearted baker hiding troubles of her own; Juniper, a gifted young mechanic desperate to escape; Tom, the quiet carpenter helping Nell rebuild more than her farm; and a pale fox that appears whenever the land has something to reveal.

Yet Larkspur Vale is dying. Streams are disappearing, harvests are failing and a powerful landowner is buying struggling farms for an exclusive development. Hidden among her aunt’s notebooks, Nell finds evidence of an ancient network of underground springs—and a secret that could determine the future of the entire valley.

Saving Foxglove Fold will require more than hard work. It will take courage, friendship and a community willing to grow together.

The Year at Foxglove Fold is a cosy, uplifting rural romance filled with farming, cottage renovation, seasonal festivals, found family, gentle mystery and a touch of natural magic.

Perfect for fans of cosy farming games, slow-burn romance, small-town stories, cottagecore fiction and heartwarming tales of second chances.
