Yellow Ribbons | children's book about separation

Mason's stomach is in knots.

Today, his dad is leaving for a long military mission far away, and he won't be back for over a year. Mason knows his dad is brave-but now he has to be brave too.

Mason feels lost, scared, and unsure how to face school, friends, and everyday life without his dad by his side. Can Mason find the courage to get through the tough days-and hold on to hope while he waits for his hero to come home?

A wonderfully touching story of the day a young boy's dad heads off to a war zone. Travel with Mason as he tries to work out his roller-coaster emotions on the worst day of his life. Told from his own perspective, the author shows kids they aren't alone during military family separation.
