The Yoke of Jesus: If His Yoke Is Easy, Why Can Life Be So Difficult?

Really? An easy yoke? Have you seen my life lately?
And for that matter, the disciples wore His yoke, and their lives did not seem all that “easy.”

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)

So what kind of yoke was Jesus referring to?

And what kind of relationship requires a yoke?

It was not an idle suggestion when Jesus said to His disciples, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” (Matthew 10:16, NIV)
